Hampstead Heath & A Balcony BBQ

Hampstead Heath & A Balcony BBQ

It was a sunny Sunday morning so we decided to get outside.  Dinner was going to be a BBQ at Dan’s brother’s house in Tufnell Park so we decided to head up that way and spend the day on Hampstead Heath.  We packed a picnic

Wanting a lighter dinner tonight I decided to cook up some sea bass fillets for us.  I then googled a few recipes to try to use up the mint I had in the fridge.  Sea bass with pea purée seemed to come up quite often

Dinner at The Great Northern Pub, St Albans

So I should probably start this post with a disclaimer.  My boyfriend, Dan, co-owns this pub, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to let him off lightly!  All opinions are my own and this is an honest account of Dinner at the Great Northern Pub

My Daily Diet

So what do I eat as my Daily Diet – I eat what makes me feel good and I don’t adhere to one specific diet.  I take bits and pieces from many of the diets out there and adapt them to my own needs.  You

Where to start…

Where to start…

After months of planning to write a blog, I’ve only finally gone and started it!  Having followed so many ‘healthy lifestyle’ blogs and pouring over Pinterest recipes daily it’s finally time to collate all my findings and knowledge in one place.  It’s something I’ve always

My story – All about Emma Eats & Explores!

My story – All about Emma Eats & Explores!

30-something and living in London, sitting at my desk, dreaming of travelling to far-flung places is how I spend most of my days – when I’m not thinking about what I’m going to eat and drink next!

I love food, wine, friends and seeing new places – I hate the cold and my happy place is anywhere where the sun is shining and I can be wearing flip-flops. Diagnosed with an autoimmune condition a few years ago (Systemic Lupus Erythamatosus – SLE) I realised that my body reacts badly to grains, starches and sugar and so I love to eat healthily and create healthier versions of some of my old favourites (think pizza/pasta/bread – I was a serious carb monster). Strictly self-taught I love playing around in the kitchen, seeing what new ideas I can come up with as well as trying recipes from the multitude of cookbooks on my kitchen shelf. Pescatarian for 16 years, I recently introduced meat back into my diet so I’m slowly learning how to cook all over again. I’ve always been interested in wine and recently I’ve done a WSET wine course so good food and good wine are huge passions of mine. Eating out is one of my favourite things to do so I hope to be able to review some restaurants on this blog.
