Sugarfree Paloma Cocktail – Tequila & Grapefruit

How about this Sugarfree Paloma Cocktail for the perfect summer drink.  It’s chilled, light and fresh and makes the perfect aperitif as it’s not too sweet – a delicious palate cleanser to prepare you for dinner.  I can’t drink cocktails with sugar in so this is the perfect Sugarfree Cocktail that won’t make you feel like you’re missing out.  Plus, it’s so easy to make!  Just 4 ingredients and 5 minutes before you can relax in the sunshine, drink in hand!

So how to make this delicious drink?  I like to have it served as a long drink as I find it really refreshing.  So I use a balloon glass and start by filling it full of plenty of ice!

Next, measure out and add the tequila and grapefruit juice to the glass.  You can squeeze your own fresh grapefruit juice if you like or use a store-bought one (just make sure it doesn’t contain any added sugar!). Then, pour over the soda water and stir gently.  Don’t stir too much or you’ll lose a lot of the bubbles and you want to keep all of the fizz!

Finally, add a squeeze of fresh lime and then garnish with a slice of fresh grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary. And that’s really all that there is to it.  It is such an easy one to make but it’s so delicious.  Serve it to guests to impress them with your cocktail skills!

Ingredients
  

  • 50 ml tequila
  • 50 ml grapefruit juice
  • 150 ml soda water
  • squeeze of fresh lime

Garnish

  • 1 grapefruit slice
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary
  • ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Fill a large balloon glass with plenty of ice.
  • Add the tequila and grapefruit juice to the glass.
  • Pour over the soda water and stir gently.
  • Garnish with a slice of fresh grapefruit and a sprig of rosemary.
